And I thought the worst was over.

27 Sep

But no, it isn’t.

Met the stingiest EVER lecturer on Sunday for block teaching.

The norm is, you submit your assignments on time, turn up for some lectures to “show face”, sit for the exam and pass, maybe participate in a bit of forum discussion and you should be fine.

This idiot is just trying to be the anamoly in all lecturers.

I told him I couldn’t stay for the afternoon session and that I had to miss the Tuesday session as I was going overseas.

You know what that idiot said????

He actually told me that I might have difficulties to even PASS the unit.

WTF is that?!?!?!?!

I was like, dumbfounded when he said that, ‘cos no lecturer had ever done that!

This is a freakin’ PART TIME MBA, for crying out loud, which means that ALL students here have FULL TIME jobs out there?

What if the student had to work? Go out of town? You’re gonna fail him/ her just because of that? Not like it’s their fault?

What. An. Ass. Hole.

I could’ve just walked out and not tell him, right? And he wouldn’t even notice.

Out of courtesy and honesty, I did.

And this is what I get?

Honesty is OVERRATED. WTF lah.

When I made plans for my trips, I hadn’t planned for taking this unit.

Well, turns out both my trips have dates clashing with class and presentation. I’m prepared to change my flight for HK to attend the presentation, but his stinky attitude just makes me feel like dropping the entire unit altogether.

Whatever, I’m going to talk to him this evening and if he’s terms are not satisfactory, I’m going to drop this freakin’ unit.

It’s just not worth it.

/end rant.

The (un)holy trinity of mutual exclusiveness

Cheap // Fast // Good

Not going to happen together. Wake up your idea, Singaporeans!

I was watching the news yesterday, apparently after the charity show on Ch 8 on Sunday night, Thong Chai Hospital (同济医院) was flooded when it opened its doors on Monday morning.

It seems that not everyone knew that it was free consultation / medicines until Sunday night. And it was like opening the flood gates on Monday.

They interviewed some of the people at the hospital and someone actually said this.

“They (the hospital) should have expected that it will be so crowded today (after the charity show) and they should open more counters, deploy more people to help register.”

Argh! So irritating! I’m extremely annoyed by this kind of comments.

Hello, are you very poor? Are you so poor you can’t afford to pay for consultation at your neighbourhood Polyclinics or GP?

Look, this hospital and its free medical services are for people who really need it. The last thing we need now is for people who can actually afford medical care and fighting for a piece of the pie with those people who really cannot afford but need the medical attention.

I don’t know how else to say this, in a nicer way, but seriously, Singaporeans are obviously too pampered and spoilt for their own good.

You want cheap, no way it’s going to be fast, because you’re not the only one who knows it’s cheap. Tens of thousands of people know it’s cheap too, and guess what, they’re going to be waiting at the same clinic / restaurant / carpark / shop as you are!

So don’t be stupid, there’s no such thing as cheap, fast AND good.

I’m not saying our doctors are no good when they are stressed or pressed for time, but come on, cut them some slack. They need time to see their patients properly, yes?

And the people working at the clinics, they are stretched really, really thinly and most of them are working there only because they feel that they’re able to offer some help to the needy.

Get the idea? If you want cheap, it ain’t going to be fast. There’s a chance it’ll be good but you’re just going to have to wait patiently for your turn.

The country’s overcrowded as it is already, we really don’t want to have to deal with Singaporeans fighting with Singaporeans for these kinds of thing.

Kthxbai.

Irritable.

18 Mar

‘Cos I think Aunt Red is on her way but there’s like flight delay or something. I’m extremely irritable, it’s been like that the whole damn effin’ week.

Plus, if there’s one thing I cannot tolerate, it’s clutter.

And what do you know, there’s damn clutter everywhere here.

Clutter on my desk, clutter on the floor, clutter everywhere (except in my bag, it’s perpertually cluttered in that black hole).

Seriously.

Every morning I come in to the office and my desk is blody messy like a hurricane ran through it. The phone’s turned the other side around (you guys know I absolute HATE THAT!!!!!), things that do not belong on my table are on it, like they don’t have their own effin’ desks!? The files and books are haphazardly strewn across the table.

This whole scenario pisses the shit out of me. Oh. My. God. You have no idea.

Blody effin’ damn pissed.

It was like that when I was at you-know-where. I can’t believe it’s happening here, now, too.

What is wrong with this people! Can’t they use their own effin’ phones!? Why must use mine!? Argh. Besides the hygiene issue, HELLO THEY DON’T TURN THE EFFIN’ TELEPHONE THE RIGHT WAY AROUND AFTER USING IT!

BASIC COURTESY CAN? You know in 好公民 (er, that was in primary school, I think), one of the morals were that you ask for permission before you use other people’s things and then after you used it, you jolly well put the damn thing back in its original position.

I know, you can say whatever, I’m anal or shit, I don’t care. You have your own blody rules to live by and I have mine. I can’t stand working in a cluttered environment. It’s like my brain can’t think / process anything else when my eyes sends these cluttered images to my brain.

My boss (aka Dad) fixed the cabinet door which was hanging off its hinge. And right after he walked away, it promptly fell off.

Oh, the sight was knee-slappingly hilarious! Like, laugh until cry kind of hilarious.

Even he felt it was funny. I swear, the things are breaking down here at the speed of light.

Uh-huh.

Which brings me to the whole topic of re-working. If in the first place, he’d got a proper contractor to do up the wires, there wouldn’t be wires hanging around, across the floor. Of course, he could do a good job himself, but no, he didn’t.

One of these days, you’re gonna have to visit me in the hospital for a broken rib or two.

Why? ‘Cos I’d have tripped over one of the damn cables / wires lah! Stupid or what.

Argh! The whole world’s pissing me off.

No blody kidding.

All these plus OB on Saturday. My life is at its best.

Kthxbai.

So damn @&$/?!%#*+!?#

1 Mar

There’s a reason why I put off coming here for so long. It’s because I know this would happen. And it makes me feel very frustrated and there’s nothing I can do. So damn annoyed. Seriously.

Paypal sucks.

15 Dec

Yeah. Because it doesn’t freakin’ let me pay!

So I ordered some stuff from TW Yahoo Auctions, and this seller accepts Paypal payments for overseas buyers. I’ve been trying for a whole effin’ week now, to pay using Paypal.

First, there’s been a gazillion changes in Paypal, I haven’t used it for YEARS. After ploughing through all the updating and adding crap, I still can’t pay!

I need to confirm and link my card or something. Blody Amex doesn’t work! -_-”

Supremely annoyed.

So I had to add another card, Mastercard, yes? So it says I have to confirm and link (again!) but I’ve yet to receive the transaction on my bank statement.

Clicking around, I managed to pay using the Mastercard! Erm, I thought I was supposed to confirm and link it? No?

Argh.

So now it says my payment has been sent. But I don’t know if my payment has been sent.

What now?

Apple hasn’t sent me a replacement Mac for the faulty screechin’ one yet, it’s been a whole effin’ week! Ok, I should really stop swearing.

And my Dermalogica products have not arrived! Ok, lots of Christmas items to ship, yes, ok. So how long more do I have to wait?

Singaporeans / People in Singapore complain about every f**king thing.

14 Feb

They complain about people not giving way to them at the lifts.

They complain about Fann Wong not being suitable for the role of triad leader, in the Jack Neo show. What the.

They complain about the prices of healthcare services in the public sector which is already very low, mind you. Private sector consultation costs at least twice as much as public healthcare.

Then they complain about having to wait to see the doctor.

Hey, look, it’s either cheap and must wait or expensive and fast.

No such thing as cheap and fast and good. You pay for what you get.

And service standards has greatly improved over the years in public healthcare.

And if prices of healthcare services are high, I don’t know, maybe they should make it FOC?

But then again, public healthcare services might as well become charitable organisations.

And if Singapore is really THAT bad in your opinion, why don’t you go to somewhere else?!

People are dying to come to Singapore, and you’re already here. Why not make the best of it rather than complaining about every little thing.

The media is to blame too. For publishing those trivial complains. Why not publish compliments for once? You publish complains, and complains are just going to increase.

Publish compliments and you’ll see how little there are, Singaporeans have simply forgotten how to compliment service providers or even their neighbours.

I read the letters that were sent to Today. My goodness, these people can really complain.

About every f**king thing!

Singaporeans are just passive, but kind at heart essentially.

Remember Huang Na’s case? Who were the people who donated so generously to her family after her death? Who gave her a proper funeral?

Singaporeans.

Remember the man who jumped onto the MRT tracks? Who donated money to his family to take care of daily expenditures?

Singaporeans.

So typical of these “complain kings / queens”, you only remember the bad stuff, i.e., people not giving way to the handicap people / caregivers.

Did it ever occur to you to open your mouth to ask?

Come on, I’m sure if you’d asked, people would’ve given way to you.

And honestly, I’m sure these “complain kings / queens” have ever met nice, kindly people who hold the door open for them, give way to them, give up their seats to them, etc.

But yet, do they remember these kind people?

No.

They only remember those who block their way, rush into the lifts ahead of them and pretend to sleep so that they don’t have to give up their seats to them.

Seriously.

Try remembering the good, and forgetting the bad.

And stop all the passing of negative energy around, especially through the media.

Above all, stop complaining that Singaporeans are this, Singaporeans are that. You’re Singaporean too. Have you not been guilty of those behaviours too? Honestly?

It’s the same everywhere.

Survival of the fastest and fittest. If you’re slow, you’d better open your mouth and ask for help.

Instead of expecting people to know that you need help.

I wonder how them politicians tolerate all these nonsense/people around.

Blah.

I paid $11 for carpark.

28 Jan

I’ve never paid so much for car park before. Seriously. Except that time when I went for lunch at Raffles Hotel, and the car park fees came up to around $11 for 2 hours. Madness these people are evil money-grabbing hobbits I swear.

And really, Century Square of Asian Malls, PLEASE REVISE YOUR PARKING FEES. So what if you boast of having the lowest parking rates per minute? At 0.011c? But subsequent hours get more and more expensive so it’s not exactly the lowest anymore.

First hour, 0.011 cents per minute.

Second hour, 0.022 cents per minute.

Third hour, 0.033 cents per minute.

But you missed out the most important part!

The per entry thingy! Apparently, at Century Square, if you enter the car park before the per-entry time starts, well, in this case, 3pm on Saturdays, your rates will be calculated based on the time you spent in the carpark!

As far as I know, almost all the other carparks practice dual charging.

Meaning, you get charged the time-based rates before the per-entry time and then once you hit the per-entry time, you just get charged a flat rate!

Which I feel it’s fairer because it’s already after the per-entry time! And I’ve already been charged the time-based rate!

Century Square carpark sucks monkey balls. BIG TIME.

DO NOT PARK THERE IF YOU’RE GOING TO HIT THE DOUBLE-CHARGING TIME.

It’s good for short duration parking, like an hour or so, because then you’re only paying $0.66 for that first hour. But any longer than that you’ll be paying MORE for every subsequent hour.

I hate Century Square.

Blody hobbits.

Chapjikalitosis (参一脚综合症)

6 Jan

Brief Background of Disease:

Chapjikalitosis is a type of psychological disease that can appear in both men and women. It is not limited to age groups and is most definitely not limited by ethnic groups.

Symptoms:

The urge/desire to want to chap ji ka in everybody’s matters, problems, issues, conversations.

The patient would also NOT know the meaning of courtesy, minding your own business and interrupting people in a conversation is just plain rude.

The disease could progress into a more severe stage where the patient, not only chap ji ka in everybody’s business, but also hallucinates that he/she is in charge of everything!

As the disease progresses, the patient will realise that he/she is slowly losing their friends, people are less willing to talk to them and everybody leaves the room when the patient comes in.

Case Notes:

So I know this one patient who has such a disease, the Chapjikalitosis.

It’s really irritating when you have such a person around because you see, when you’re having a conversation with your friend or on the phone, this person walks into your “area” and starts to interrupt your conversation with your friend even though in the first place, this person is not included in the conversation!

The most amazing thing is, even when I’m on the phone, the patient manages to interrupt me on the phone! Like I’d be talking to this person on the phone, and the patient walks in, and eavesdrop on my conversation with my friend then actually chap ji ka and starts having a conversation with us!

It’s really annoying because, hey look, it’s not like you don’t have a phone right. Go call someone if you’re really desperately in need to talk to someone.

 Go get your own conversation!

And I don’t chap ji ka when you’re on the phone. So can you please SHUT THE F**K UP and let me have a conversation with my friend?

Treatment for Chajikalitosis:

These patients are slightly demented, so it’s no use trying to talk sense into them. The best way is actually to ignore, ignore and ignore.

Otherwise, there’s really no known treatment for this disease.

And that’s all for our medical files. I’m out!

wtf1.gif

If there’s one thing I hate the most, it’s people using my things and not bothering to put them back in their original places.

Like you know, you took it from the drawer, please kindly put it back where you took it from.

And in the first place, you’re supposed to ask and inform before taking. My things are not your things. Even though they don’t belong to me, per se.

I hate that I leave the room for a while (or a few days) and when I come back, I see pens strewn all over my desk, papers lying all around and items haphazardly dumped in my tray.

Hey, just because your room is messy doesn’t mean mine has to be as messy as yours.

I’m not the neatest person in the world, but at least I have some kind of order as to how I want my things arranged.

Thank you very much.
