Muahaha!

7 Oct

Remember this?

I didn’t have to wait until Shenzhen! I found the Hello Kitty iPhone case in Singapore for a fraction of the price on Sanrio.com!

Wahahaha!

*glee*

It looks great too! :D

Found it on the way to the Lau’s house at Choa Chu Kang.

Well, technically, we were at Yew Tee station and there was this pasar malam going on.

Initially, we only wanted to buy food ‘cos we haven’t eaten and it was already close to 9pm!

While walking around and looking for cotton candy (gosh, I love that stuff), I found a stall selling iPhone covers!

WAH AND I SAW THIS, OMG, MAD EXCITED.

Hahaha.

And the best part is, it’s only $10! Whoopee!

Ok, I’m a pirate, I’m sorry Sanrio, but I’m not prepared to spend $60 buying an iPhone cover even though I really like your designs.

Anyway, an iPhone cover is an iPhone cover! Not that the $60 one will protect my iPhone better than the $10 one, right?

YAY!

Happiness.

On top of that, Chong and I bought so many things from City Plaza, that place is an undiscovered gem lah, really.

Spent $100 shopping there, argh, bought 3 belts, 2 tops and a dress.

And didn’t even buy what we were supposed to buy.

T_T

We’re so easily distracted.

Might post pictures of our conquests if I’m free!

Submissions are closing in on me. Boohoo.

MAD LAH.

Cheh, but it’s so nice! Cute until…

Bah, shall not waste money.

Maybe can find similar ones in Shenzhen (Land of Fakes) when I go over in October.

Muahahahaha.

Might consider getting the plush though. I really like the 50th Anniversary one.

But the Apple one is cute too!

OMG. ONLY CAN BUY ONE!

Birthday 2010 + Long Weekend!

14 Sep

To be really honest, I hate celebrating my birthday.

Especially those after 21. It’s like these celebrations are not the most important thing in the world anymore.

I used to think birthday celebrations are a MUST!

But now, they are just a good excuse to meet up with old friends for a good meal, since everyone’s too busy with their own lives on normal days.

This is a consolidation of photos taken from my birthday celebrations over the weekend!

And also the super early one at Marriot with the BFFs. LOL.

1 Sep 2010

High tea at Marriott Cafe (or something). Quite crowded for a weekday afternoon, how come all these people not working?! Took a break from mugging for Marketing! :)

The “star” of the afternoon! Princess Valeryn! With the head band I just got for her. Cute max! But still sleepy. Meh.

And then! Surprise! Marriott staff with my birthday cake and singing Happy Birthday! Omg, very paiseh! Hahaha. I was mid-sentence, btw, when they came by. T_T

Group photo! With Valeryn sleeping. As usual. -__-”

I was totally caught off guard, so I didn’t know what to wish for. Not that these wishes come true anyway.

Oh lookie, Tiger Balm at the bottom right corner! :P

*Glee*

With my 1st birthday cake! I’m 26! OMG! Old!

We were so stuffed with food that we only had a small slice of the cake. I brought the rest home. Ha.

And the baby is sleeping. Again. Sigh.

Muahaha, I love her expression in this photo! She was looking at me! :D

The baba godmother with her sleepy goddaughter. *pout*

The mummy with baby! Still pouting! Haha.

Ok, at least she’s not pouting anymore. That’s an improvement eh. Yawn!

9 Sep 2010

Then it was dinner at Tiffany Cafe, Furama City Centre.

Usual price for buffet dinner is $42++, but with DBS or Amex cards, you get 1 for 1! Damn good deal ‘cos it’s only $26 nett after the discount!

Ok, granted, the spread wasn’t fantastic but it’s halal and maybe the food selection was different for the Hari Raya celebration.

They had the usual stuff, prawns (apparently very fresh, the Monster ate a whole plate full), sashimi (also fresh), desserts counter ( a lot of variety, but creme brulee fail like whale!), live cooking station, coffee and tea, etc.

Might go again after Hari Raya and see what they have to offer!

Another birthday cake! Cheesecake! And the mandatory group photos.

Waiting at the lobby while we decide where to go.

Still waiting. And discussing. And taking photos. Ms Han is standing on a step higher than us in the bottom photo. And she’s still shorter. OMG. :P

After much discussion, we finally decided to go to Lantern, at Fullerton Bay Hotel! Rooms are at least $480+++ per night. MADNESS. But the view is, WOW!

The view when the lift door opens. MBS right smack in front of you.

CHIO OR NOT!!

Moet & Chandon for the birthday party!

At the posh lobby waiting for Monster and Ting. Love the chandeliers! So pretty!

Fullerton Hotel and Esplanade on the left.

They had lounge chairs! Whatever you call those things. So shiok.

I would think this would be a damn good place for New Year’s countdown and National Day Parades and the Fireworks Festivals! Vantage view of the fireworks minus the squeezing yar!

My presents – a cheque from the gang (it’s a practical present, alright!) and ang bao from Mummy! :D

10 Sep 2010

BBQ with the toes at Jeff’s place!

It’s really more of a birthday cum farewell to Eugene cum farewell to Casafina BBQ, really.

It’s the last BBQ before Jeff moves to a new place and a farewell BBQ for Eugene, who’s going back to London.

And it’s also for the September babies – me, Geraldine and Kevin.

No photos of this ‘cos I was busy mahjong-ing, Scrabble-ing, eating and escaping from being thrown into the pool.

So we wait for Jeff to upload!

Meanwhile, I have only this!

Fabulous birthday cupcakes for each of the birthday babies! Mine is called Princess!

:)

Thanks you guys! Love it!

Oh and the many many many birthday songs. I bet it was at least 4 times. -___-” Funny as hell!

And thanks to Poh and Jo for the shopping vouchers! Yay! More shopping!

11 Sep 2010

Shopping at City Plaza and manicure at Far East Plaza!

My Miumiu cat top from CP! Muahahaha. Love the material, it’s so comfy!

And check out my adorable manicure from Vain Beauty!

Makes me feel so happy just looking at my fingers now. Wahahaha.

Anyway, it’s been a great birthday! One more last one with the BSC gang on Sunday!

Photos after that too!

Thanks to all who made it possible, you guys know who you are!

BIG KISS AND HUGS to all!

And much thanks for all the birthday wishes on Facebook, Twitter, SMS and Whatsapp!

You guys are great!

xoxo,

Selena

Gmarket is full of evilness

3 Sep

Just one hour of surfing on Gmarket Singapore (not even the Korea one! I’m thankful I can’t read Korean) and I already have like $130+ (10 over items) worth of stuff in my shopping cart.

WTH. o_O”

It’s so terrible! I’ve got dresses, leggings, jeans, shorts, skirts, scarves, hair accessories, camera, belts, stationery, blah blah.

OMG.

Somebodeh stop meeeeeeeeee!

They literally have EVERYTHING. It’s so amazing.

Plus everything is so trendy (and cheap)! Scarves that I can’t seem to find in Singapore, or maybe I’m going to all the wrong places.

I’ve placed my first order with G-evil-market. -___-”

And I’ve poisoned Jenny-san too! *sniggers*

After much deliberation, I assure you, I managed to cut my shopping cart from $130+ to $70+.

I CAN HAS SOME DISCIPLINE OK!

My first buys. They better be good, or I’ll forever boycott them.

1. Washed denim shorts (impossible to find in Singapore that are not ridiculously overpriced) – $11.90 which is cheap until LAO SAI. Whether it’ll fit properly or not is another question, right?

2. Jelly flower sandals in Beige$10.60, this I’m a bit worried, because someone left a review for a Gladiator-esque type of sandals saying that the actual does not look like the picture at all! Urm, so I’m hoping that it’s just for that particular model and not my jelly flower sandals!!! *cross fingers*

3. Purple leggings$6.90, wah lau, I don’t know how many times I’m going to say this, but CHEAP UNTIL LAO SAI!

4. Leather texture leggings$9.50, again. CULS. Ha! Well, I don’t know how this will turn out, I’m hoping it’s not a metallic sheen and then they call it LEATHER, I will so slap the seller. It better be at least leather-ish.

5. and 6. Chiffon maxis$12.99 and $16.99 respectively. These 2 are relatively cheaper than what I’ve seen online selling at blogshops and shops that advertise on Facebook ads (those boxes at the RH side), so I’m taking a chance and I hope they’ll turn out fine!

As with all online shopping, I have concerns about sizing, cuts and fits, delivery and the overall integrity of the seller, like whether I’ll even receive the items??

I mean, photos can be easily manipulated with Photoshop, lightings, angles. Even the dress itself can be adjusted with pins and tucks.

So these all look good in photos, but who knows how they be in real life?

And really, quit saying that skinny people have an easier time buying online.

THAT’S JUST BULL CRAP.

Not true at all.

It’s not all about size ok? It’s about the fit, the cutting, how the clothes fall on your body. Body shape plays a major part too, alright?

Bah. Myth busted, yes.

I’ve already thought of what I’d buy if these turn out to be ok. Hahahaha, I am a shopaholic through and through.

Teeshirt dress, scarves (amazing range), stonewashed skinnies, teeshirt, belts, underwater lomocamera (so much cheaper than blogshops) and iPhone “omg-damn-cute-hello-kitty” covers.

Ahhh! Exciting!

I just logged in and see! 4 out of 7 items shipped out already! Pretty fast, since I only ordered on 31 August!

Now we wait and see if I actually receive them. Hmmph.

*waits*

Ok, back to mugging for Marketing Principles on Saturday.

Ciao people!

Last “Nua” Weekend Before Mugging Season! :(

31 Aug

“Twas my last weekend to nua (rot around) and sleep late and play like siao (crazy) before mugging season starts. :(

After my report submission at 1700hrs on Saturday, I felt like the last ounces of my life had been sucked away and sent to UWA in Perth.

No kidding man.

It’s really no joke when you have to rework your entire report, re-run statistical models, re-draw all the graphs / charts and re-analyse the data and statistics.

It was the the craziest night of my postgrad studies so far and I’d give my life not to repeat that situation again ever in my life. o_O”

Had a mini meltdown that day too and poor Mich was my outlet that day. :X

Anyway, enough of that depressing stuff. Let’s talk about my weekend!

Mj was arranged that very night! I was suffering from serious Mahjong withdrawal symptoms, hahaha, so I gathered the gang for a game and a half.

I WON $5!!!!

No biggie, you think, but it is a breakthrough for me! ‘Cos we have a belief that whoever initiates the game will lose! Or rather, won’t win lah. Stupid but it was true until that night!

BUT I DID! OMG!

Could’ve been more, if I hadn’t been careless and gave away $6.40 to Ting. Baaaaaaah.

Sunday was spent S-H-O-P-P-I-N-G with Mommy!

Been ages since I went to Tampines Mall, Tampines 1 and Century Square. So many new shops! I was gawking like an idiot when I saw all the new shops. Heh.

Mucked around in that accessories shop beside Uniqlo, I can’t blody remember the shop name! Arghhh.

Bought RUBBER BANDS, all the ones I owned have expanded beyond hope! I also finally succumbed to the kawaii usamimi. Bought a denim polka-dotted one.

Cute untillll! (^_^)v

Forgive the stoned expression

It has no practical functions, really, you can’t use it to hold up your fringe because. Why, because it’s just not supposed to do that! Heh.

But it’s soooooooooooo cute! Muahaha, rabbit ears, hereth I cometh!

Next stop, the Ettusais counter at Isetan Tampines!

Read about this product in one of the beauty blogger’s entry and she swears by it, so I figured I’d give it a try too!

Medicated Body Whitening Mist N – S$38/-

I hope it works! *cross fingers* I’ve got scars on my back that I’ve been trying to get rid off for a really long time now. Let’s hope this will do the trick!

I wanted to ask about other products but the lady manning the counter wasn’t really friendly and bad service turns me off big time. Especially since it’s the first time I’m trying a product from this brand.

Pffffft.

Medicated Acne Aroma Body Wash – S$34/-

This was the other product I wanted to try, the Aroma Body Wash. Apparently can help to relax my mind and body, God knows I need that now.

Oh wells, shall go again another time and maybe the lady will be feeling friendlier then.

Japanese Cherry Blossom Hand & Nail Cream – S$17.50

Passed by The Body Shop and this caught my eye! And my nose, for that matter. So nice smell leh! Omg. I would have bought it if I didn’t already have 43294835 bottles / tubes of hand cream, moisturizers, lotions whatever you call it.

Eeyer, so nice, imma buy the entire set during Christmas, when they have all the gift sets, heh heh.

Went for a sushi dinner with Mommy after shopping! Been craving for salmon sashimi since forever!

Nom nom nom. I must go for a Japanese Ala Carte buffet soon!

Marketing paper on Saturday (super sian!) at 9am. OMG. And then Statistics (sure die -__-”) on Wednesday.

If you guys don’t see me after that, it means either 1. I’m so happy it’s all over, play until forget to come home, 2. I did so badly / left half the paper blank that I went to tiao lao or drown myself, 3. All energy sapped out and hibernating under my comfy blanket in bed.

So, yeah, either one k.

No.2 quite easy to know.. It’ll be in the news.

/end morbid thought.

I keep wanting to end this post abruptly, hahaha, but I shan’t.

Instead, I shall say.

THAT’S ALL FOLKS! (And wish me all the luck in the world, will ya?)

Much love,

Selena

xoxo

Heart over Heels

26 Mar

Oh Christian,

How do I love thee? <3

Let me count the ways.

I love thy metal studs.

And thy fiery red soles.

Last but not least,  thy last name, Louboutin.

Alas, thy £1,120.09 price tag seperates us, my love.

Sigh!

One day. We will be together, happily ever after.

Till I find a new pair which will make my heart flutter.

But for now, my beloved Studio 120 studded peep-toes, I will see you in my dreams!

Zzzz.

Distractions

23 Oct

Still drowning in my econs notes. But amidst the reading of demand and supply, market structures, marginal costs, law of diminishing returns, I’ve been daydreaming.

I made up a list of things I want to buy.

Not surprising, I’ve made this kind of lists before. Always!  Just so that I don’t forget and I don’t get distracted to buy other things not within the list.

Like real.

1. LeSportSac’s Drew backpack is ultimately adorable. I wonder if they sell these in Bangkok. Isetan’s having a 30% sale now on this brand. I must go on Sunday after school. To reward myself, if I did well in my test and to console myself, if I totally screwed up. Meh.

I saw these at Guangzhou Baiyun Int’l Airport, going for close to $200. Damn, why did I have such great self-restraint. If they don’t have this in Isetan, I’m so going to kick myself. *cross fingers*

drew

2. Apple iMac 21.5″, $1788

The final stage of my Apple-fication process. You may ask, what about the iPhone to complete the package? No, I’m not getting the iPhone, that’s just a useless piece of metal. Pretty, yes, but I don’t think it’s that great a phone.

The iMac, on the other hand, is a fantastic piece of machine. Sleek and chic, with a wireless keyboard and the Mighty Mouse! Whoopee!

gallery-big-06

Plus the fact that I”m completely smitten with the Photobooth function thing.

photo_on_2009-09-23_at_1935

Taken at Epicentre@Wheelock then frantically trying to find the file and send it via email to myself.

3. Hermes  H-our watch, Regular in orange calfskin

This is my ultimate dream, it’s a good $1000 cheaper at the Guangzhou airport. Damn the self-restraint! Argh! I had it on my wrist for 5mins, as if convincing myself to just buy it!

hermes-h-our-watch

4. Pink Swarovski Varinas for Breast Cancer Foundation

Now, now, I know I already have a pair of silver Varinas, but this, this, this pair of gems is PINK AND CRYSTAL STUDDED! How can I not fall in love with it? How?!

pink-crystal-varinas1

5. Ayurveda Spa session at Amrita Spa and Wellness

6. Instax Mini 25 Hello Kitty Edition

I want this just because! Because it’s Hello Kitty and because polaroid cameras are so fun!

instax-mini-7s-kitty

Ok, that’s all. I think I spent too much time here. I should get back to drowning in economics. Competitive advantage and whatnots.

I’m outta here.

Here is my remedy, remedy, uh!

Shhh.

29 Dec

I’m really bad at keeping secrets.

I feel like I’m going to explode.

Bah.

Anyway, this place is going to the dogs. I don’t know why, but I don’t have the energy to update anymore. I barely get enough sleep.

Well, this is as good as it gets.

My gastric keeps acting up, I’m scared.

I had THE WORST case of heartburn last night, I thought I was going to die. I was THIS CLOSE to going to A&E.

Christmas came and went.

Finally bought the Christmas presents for the BFFs, a pair of Birkies for Mum, Agnes B. for myself and chocolates for the peeps (and some) at work. Evil people need not apply.

My bee-yoo-tee-fulllll Agnes B. Finally! After waiting for so long! I finally bought it. 10% + 10%! Oh my god. I had to fight a blody auntie for this.

This blody shrew said I injured her daughter just because the edge of my paper bags scraped her precious daughter’s arm.

Oh please.

Can somebody slap her already? I already apologised, what does she want? Medical fee compensation? I was in a hurry and they were blocking the entire escalator!

Gah. So much for the Christmas season.

Anyways, back to happier things.

My star all the way from Japan! Hand delivered to Singapore by Ms Fan! :D

Agnes B. = Happiness!

Whee!

‘Tis the season to be Hello Kitty-fied! I received a Hello Kitty baking tin, Hello Kitty eye-mask, a Hello Kitty lamp, a Hello Kitty mouse and a Hello Kitty pouch!

Serene Ang Ang Ang also got me a Hello Kitty mouse! Aye.

Love them all!

Oh, er, and long overdue photos from Ms Ang’s birthday celebration in Batam!

page1.jpg

Collaged, as usual.

We love KTM and its toads. Bull frogs. Whatever.

Not.

page2.jpg

It was a crazy surprise! Screamed our heads off, I don’t know why. But it was madness. Chaotic.

Poppers going off, screamings, cake, singing, camera and fumbling with the candles. Aiyo.

page3.jpg

The grand masterminds. Mdm Yap, Mdm Tengku Lee, April, Ryan san and yours truly.

Don’t we look like some mafia gang. Whoopee!

Ok, I can feel my gastric juices gurgling again.

I’m off.

Good night, y’all!

I survived 10KM!

28 Oct

I did, I did!

I finished 3777 out of 3900. Oh god, I’m such a weakling. *embarrassed*

Teehee. Well at least I wasn’t the last the clear the finishing line. And it was chaos when the 10km route joined the 5km route.

Just visualise this, a mad rush of girls / ladies / women all stampeding towards you.

Wah piang, damn scary lah!

This was taken before the race. We arrived late, by the way. Wahahaha.

Yours truly, me, woke up late because I haven’t figured out how the P1i’s alarm worked. So it didn’t ring!

Blah.

And this is my medal! For finishing the run!

I’m a 10km finisher! Yay! :D

I also finished this.

And this.

And and and this! $10.90 grapes!

We wanted to get the $16.90 ones, but the sensible Virgos in us just couldn’t bring ourselves to pay for that muchh for a bunch of grapes. Maybe next time.

But best of all, I got this! Size 37, last pair!

They’re really silver and this photo just doesn’t do it justice.

Anyways, I’m going to wear it on Saturday! Company D&D.

I worked my brain cells off for this event. Sigh. I hope it’s good. Just kena arrow to do another thing on the day itself. Wah piang. Shit.

Grr.

Note to self: Call Angie tomorrow regarding the case.

A’ight, I’m off to sleep.

Oh my aching legs.. :(
